177th FW Public Affairs

Mission Statement:
The mission of the Public Affairs Office is to tell the Air Force and New Jersey Air National Guard story, build public trust and support and enhance Airmen morale and readiness.

Media Queries:
All media contacts should be immediately referred to public affairs. It is the responsibility of the Public Affairs Office to coordinate all media interviews, media queries and media access to the base.

Please direct all media calls to (609) 761-6259 during normal duty hours. If you have an urgent media query after normal duty hours, contact the command post at (609) 761-6001.

Community Relations:
We aim to increase public awareness and understanding of the Air Force and the New Jersey Air National Guard's mission. We support surrounding communities in all aspects-- ranging from base tour requests to providing speakers for outside events. Our goal is to foster positive relations with the surrounding communities. Participation in community events by Air Force people is desirable and highly encouraged. Internal Information:
We support the wing commander and base leadership by maintaining effective avenues of communication with the base community, consisting of active-duty and retired Airmen, their family members, and government and contracted employees. The PA Office provides photo, video and written support to New Jersey ANG members. For more information on PA services and public affairs products please call (609) 761-6259.

The 177th Fighter Wing website is the official online publication for members of the 177th FW, New Jersey Air National Guard. News and editorial content are provided by the Public Affairs Office, as well as wing and tenant units.

Submitting stories: 
Public Affairs is always looking for news and information directly related to the New Jersey ANG and its Airmen. Stories and story ideas can be submitted to the 177th FW/PA staff. The staff reserves the right to use, reject or edit any stories that are submitted. Request for Public Affairs support:

If you are a military member and would like to schedule official portraits or have information regarding a media event that requires photojournalism or broadcast journalism support, please fill out and e-mail us an AF Form 833.


Base Tours:

Groups interested in base tours need to fill out a 177th Fighter Wing Base Tour Request Form.


Request for Unit participation in public events:

If you would like support/participation from our unit in public events please fill out a DD2536 - Request for Armed Forces Participation in Public Events (Non-Aviation) and submit via email to: 177.FW.PA.Org@us.af.mil.


Aerial Flyover Request:

Groups looking to incorporate an aircraft flyover for their events can INQUIRE HERE. Funeral flyovers, or flyovers in memorial of one individual, are made directly to Air Force Mortuary Affairs by a family member or representative of the family. An email can be sent to the family liaison at Air Force Mortuary Affairs, if working with one, or to AFMAO.HG.HONORGUARD@us.af.mil. They can also be reached at 302-363-7704.
