  • 177th Fighter Wing off NJ COVID-19 response mission

    On July 23, 2020, the 177th Fighter Wing commander briefed members of his leadership team that all Jersey Devils were off of the NJ COVID-19 Response mission. The over four-month long odyssey of support for the state ran the gamut from helping to set-up and run community-based, mobile COVID-19 testing sites, to helping NJ Joint Task Force 57 with creating additional medical capacity by setting up Federal Medical Stations in conjunction with numerous organizations, including the FEMA, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Department of Health, the Office of Emergency Management, and the New Jersey National Guard.

  • 177th Fighter Wing Airmen receive First Aid Training for Mental Health

    Airmen with the 177th Fighter Wing of the New Jersey Air National Guard received mental health first aid training Feb. 12-13 at the Atlantic City Air National Guard Base. The two-day class was designed to address some of the unique aspects of military culture and give unit members the tools to help fellow Airmen who are facing mental health issues.

    The recent announcement by Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David L. Goldfein that the Year Of The Defender will transition to the Year of Integrated Defense, led the leadership of the 177th Fighter Wing to spend several hours at the Transportation Security Administration firing range in Egg Harbor Township, N.J. on Nov. 5, 2019, qualifying on the M4 rifle and M9 pistol and also taking the security forces proficiency fire course, to try and get a feel for what the a base defender’s job entails.

Todman, an Air National Guard Athlete of the Year, a championship power lifter, a high school track and field coach and a mentor to special needs children. Though a decorated athlete and professional, Todman expressed her hardships of being made fun of for her body type and her being strong, while growing up.
  • 177th Conducts a Combined Combat Skills Challenge

    Airmen of the 177th Fighter Wing participated in the inaugural Combined Combat Skills Challenge on August 17 and 18, 2019, here at the Atlantic City Air National Guard Base in Egg Harbor Township, N.J. The challenge encompassed the generation of combat sorties, ranging from the maintainers’ preparation and loading of F-16 aircraft, to the pilots’ execution of the mission.
