U.S. Air Force Airmen of the 177th, 108th, and 111th Civil Engineer Squadrons who were on the winning team of an obstacle course receive a ride from an HH-60G Pave Hawk from the 210th Rescue Squadron May 23, 2023, at Camp Madbull on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. The civil engineers participated in the obstacle course during Scruffy Devil, a Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force 96-hour contingency training focused on rapidly establishing living quarters, base sustainment and emergency service support. The Scruffy Devil exercise earned its name through its nature as expeditionary training with engineers dealing with extreme weather conditions, field conditions and limited communications.
