177th Civil Engineers help raise energy awareness
Peter Cote, electrician with the 177th Fighter Wing, New Jersey Air National Guard, prepares a new high efficiency electronic fluorescent ballast for installation in on Oct. 10, 2014. Part of the base's ongoing commitment to energy conservation, and in observation of the Dept. of Defense's October Energy Awareness Month, the base civil engineers installed the newer T8 bulbs and ballasts which combine for an energy savings of 20% over the older T12 type.
