Egg Harbor Township, NJ -- Alder Middle School in Egg Harbor Township, NJ showed its pride and patriotism by inviting local military members to display work equipment and memorabilia and to share stories with students on May 23.

"They had a wonderful event set up that included the singing of patriotic songs by the school choir and then afterwards a chance to get to talk to the children about each of our individual experience and history. The staff and students made me feel very welcomed and comfortable," said Senior Airman Tina Fryling, who recently returned from a deployment to Afghanistan.

Fryling, along with members of the U.S. Coast Guard, Marine Reserves, and several retired veterans, set up tables in the school library for the kids to get a close-up look at military gear and photographs.

"The children had great questions and enthusiasm," said Fryling. "I had a great time and would love to thank them for the event they put together."
