COLONEL DIANA M. BROWN

Colonel Diana M. Brown currently serves as the 177th Vice Commander, 177th Fighter Wing, New Jersey Air National Guard. The Wing’s mission is to provide and sustain combat-ready forces supporting both federal and state missions. As Vice Commander, she assists the Wing Commander in organizing, training and equipping a 4 group, 10 squadron wing who flies Lockheed Martin F-16C+ aircraft. The 177th Fighter Wing is a reserve component of the Air Force’s Air Combat Command.

Colonel Brown is a graduate of the USAF Air War College. She holds a Master’s Degree in Military Operational Art and Science from the Air University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from the Richard Stockton University of New Jersey. Her military career began in 1989 at Basic Military Training, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, and continued in the New Jersey Air National Guard where she attained the rank of Master Sergeant prior to receiving her commission. Colonel Brown graduated from the Academy of Military Science, McGhee Tyson ANGB, Tennessee, in 1999. She was assigned to Headquarters New Jersey Air National Guard as a Personnel Staff Officer and dual-hatted as the full time Personnel Staffing Specialist for the Human Resource Office, J1, Fort Dix New Jersey. In 1993, she was selected to serve as Commander, 177th Mission Support Flight. In addition, Colonel Brown served as the full time Director of Personnel.  In 2009, she was selected to serve as Deputy Commander, 177th Mission Support Group, and in December 2015 she was selected to serve as Commander, 177th Mission Support Group. In November 2018 she was selected to serve as the 177th Fighter Wing, Vice Wing Commander.
